Places in Casa Forte:

This book addresses the concept of place as studied by humanistic geography, focusing on the Casa Forte neighbourhood in Recife, Pernambuco. With the new geography, the concept of place has acquired new content with a more subjective view of reality, extrapolating the elements materialised in space and expressing itself through abstract and intangible elements, such as people's ideas and feelings. Thus, the objective was to discover whether, despite the profound urban transformations that the neighbourhood has undergone, there are still places with meanings attributed to them by the population based on their social representation.
