The drastic increasing of plastic waste has created a fatal situation all over the world. Economic development and people's changing patterns of consumption & production are the main cause of plastic waste disposal which harms the environment and possess threat to human health. This book provides an overview of the resource, recovery and management of plastic waste. Disposal of plastic waste is a serious concern in India as well as all over the world. New technologies have been developed to minimize their adverse effect on the environment. Recycling of plastic is a feasible solution to minimize the environmental pollution. The recycling of plastics will not only minimize the pollution, but also generate some useful solid, liquid and gaseous products. Tertiary methods of recycling are the most important and involves the production of basic chemicals and fuels from plastics waste through pyrolysis or thermal decomposition. The petroleum reserves may also be extended by using waste plastics and other organic wastes. Co-processing of waste plastics with petroleum residue may be a feasible solution for abatement of pollution as well as energy generation.
