Gmina Kra niczyn is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Krasnystaw County, Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland. Its seat is the village of Kra niczyn, which lies approximately 16 kilometres (10 mi) south-east of Krasnystaw and 66 km (41 mi) south-east of the regional capital Lublin. The gmina covers an area of 110.02 square kilometres (42.5 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 4,284. The gmina contains part of the protected area called Skierbieszów Landscape Park. Krasnystaw County (Polish: powiat krasnostawski) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Lublin Voivodeship, eastern Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and only town is Krasnystaw, which lies 50 kilometres (31 mi) south-east of the regional capital Lublin.
