PODIATRY IN THE ELDERLY AND THEIR FEET GERIATRIC

Foot disorders have been a health problem since man adopted the bipedal posture, making all his weight fall on his feet, and that these absorb all the forces of action and reaction of the impacts of walking. From the skins with which man covered his feet to protect them from the cold and mechanical aggressions, to the first cultures that used footwear designed as we understand it today, footwear has progressively lost its protective function in favour of an aesthetic function, thus becoming one of the main causes and/or triggers of foot disorders.
