Poetry Reading Skills

The theme of this book is poem reading skills. The problems that motivated the research and writing of this book were: the realization that for many teachers, developing didactic practices in which the reading skills of the poem genre are contemplated is a challenge; the observation that students show no interest in reading poems, despite the value of this discursive genre for reader training; doubts about how to prepare students for external assessments such as Prova Brasil, ENEM and SARESP. The general aim of this research is to offer a contribution to other educators who come to know this work of didactic transposition of activities that focus on poem reading skills and reflection on the results in the classroom where it was developed. The theoretical foundation of this research is based on the sociocognitive perspective of reading; on the Bakhtinian conception of language and discursive genres and on the constitutive aspects of the discursive genre poem.

She has a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Taubaté, and a degree in Languages and Pedagogy. She is currently the Pedagogical Coordinator of Elementary School II at Colégio Franciscano São Miguel Arcanjo and Coordinator of the Distance Education Center at Faculdade Carlos Drummond de Andrade.
