Poliomyelitis in Northern Nigeria: A case study in Zaria, Kaduna State

This book looks at the controversial issues surrounding poliomyelitis among underfive children of women of childbearing age in northern Nigeria.A much insightful reading into the ongoing socio-cultural,economic and translational issues impacting on this recurring public health problem in northern Nigeria.From its findings, poliomyelitis as a public health problem may be quite thorny in eradication given the complexities that engender its continuous transmission.

Oladipo Aina is a medical sociologist with Masters' degrees from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Nigeria and University of Aberdeen, Scotland.Presently, he teaches various public health courses in the Faculty of Medicine, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria Nigeria.He has also worked as consultant to local and international NGOs in public health.
