Iskandar Kurbanovich Asadullaev è nato a Dushanbe il 26 marzo 1949. Nel 1973 si è laureato in Storia presso l'Università Statale di Mosca intitolata a M.V. Lomonosov. Ha discusso la sua tesi di dottorato in filosofia sul tema "Il carattere storico del fattore soggettivo della rivoluzione sociale" e la sua tesi di dottorato: "L'espansione della somiglianza".
