The political knowledge and attitude of Malaysian students both home and abroad have increasingly played an important role in the country's political life. Within the broader context of development and extensive industrialisation programmes in the past decade, not only have the number of Malaysian students abroad increased, but they have also played a paramount role in society. In addition, many political and social scientists considered politics to be an important part of student life and students have played an important role in the political system.

Dr. Syed Azman is currently a State Assemblyman of Batu Buruk, Terengganu. He was a former lecturer at University of Malaya and International Islamic University of Malaysia. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science, Birmingham University, UK, Masters in Public Admin and Political Science and Bachelor degree in Science, Indiana State University, USA.
