Political parties in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Since its accession to political and economic independence, the Democratic Republic of Congo has experienced an emergence in political matters, especially in what concerns the organization of the conquest of power, from 1960 to the present. However, it should be noted that since the establishment of the constitution of February 18, 2006, which instituted the 3rd Republic in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has allowed an adequate regulation of political parties. It is worth noting that after a long period of dictatorship in the Democratic Republic of Congo, under the Third Republic, politicians have given a new air to the functioning of political parties. Thus, this work allows to cross the regulation of the political parties on its functioning as recognized by the Law n° 04/002 of March 15, 2004 relating to the organization and the functioning of the political parties in Democratic Republic of Congo; on the private or public financing as recognized by the Law n° 08/005 of June 10, 2008 relating to the public financing of the political parties in Democratic Republic of Congo; As well as the statute of the opposition of the political parties in Democratic Republic of Congo.
