Polymorphism and Association Analysis of Growth Hormone Gene in Chicken

Kadaknath is a unique Indian poultry breed with black flesh which is not only a delicacy of distinctive taste, but also with aphrodisiac value. Chicken growth hormone gene is highly polymorphic and has been found to be associated with growth and egg production traits. The book analyses the polymorphism in growth hormone gene and association of polymorphic variants of gene with various growth and egg production traits for selection of elite birds as parents for future generation.
