As a significant element of socialisation, media culture plays a pivotal role in the formation of societal norms.

Emel AKSOY is an Associate Professor at Akdeniz University, Faculty of Communication, in Antalya, Turkey. She holds a PhD degree in Journalism and teaches gender and media, popular culture, social psychology, and behavioral sciences in undergraduate and graduate courses. Her scientific interests are gender, image studies and social psychology.
