Portrayal of Women in Pakistani Cinema

Film is the most popular medium of entertainments. On the other hand the films play a vital role in construction of an organized society. This role becomes more important in a society having low rate of literacy. Thus the medium of film in Pakistan becomes a powerful medium of entertainment. This book shows how Pakistani Women are portrayed In Pakistani Urdu and Punjabi Movie. It is a study of Women portrayal in Pakistani films. The book reveals that The Urdu films are very typical in the sense that they portray the woman from two dimensions only either she is shown as a very pious and chaste lady or she is presented as a prostitute girl.
