Position of the Israel Lobby in the United States' Political System

Interest groups, or lobbies and their lobbying activities are changing the face of the global politics. In this important context, the Israel lobby is the focus of this book since it is operating in the political system of the World's chief international actor. The lobby's huge power reserves in the United States' political system, its methods of influence, its main successes and failures, and its role in the formulation of the United States' foreign policy regarding the Middle East can be listed as the most important aspects of the book. Additionally, the lobby's goal to overemphasize the special relationship between the United States and Israel is also discussed as one of the its tactics in influencing the policy process in the United States. Other tactics of the Israel lobby are also analyzed in the book, which are anti- Semitism accusations, campaign contributions to pro- Israel candidates, manipulation of high level appointments, and the effective use of its supporters both in the House and the Senate in order to eliminate any open debate on the might of the lobby and the probability United States' more evenhanded policy preferences.
