Post-Missionary Identities
Details
Nowadays, we often use the prefix post to determine the period in which we live: post-modern, post-colonial, post-industrial etc. One more such a term, post-missionary , might be properly reflecting a period when the former missionary churches have developed their own customs and practices, following the tradition, but with the use of local cultural resources. This book analyses music of one of such communities as an expression of cultural identity of its members. This is actually the first study, which investigates in-depth the identity expression of the Middle-Eastern Christians through music.
