Poverty in Africa. Causes and prospects

This book is inspired by the scandalous poverty found in several African cities. Indeed, several African cities share a common setting illustrating a tiny opulent minority and masses of poor people disguised as beggars, homeless, street children, etc. Consequently, this book undertakes a critical reflection on the experiences of Africans in all their diversity, ranging from the Africa of cities and skyscrapers to the Africa of the depths and huts rooted in traditional customs and beliefs. Why is there poverty in Africa and how can it be overcome? This is the thorny question that runs through this book from cover to cover.

Eugène Basonota Bahati is a Congolese Jesuit. Born in Kisangani on 10 September 1991, he studied at Maele College before joining the Society of Jesus in 2008. He holds a degree in philosophy from Loyola University in Congo. He is currently studying theology at Hekima University College, Nairobi.
