"Poverty, Unemployment and National Strategies" obtains a good comprehension of poverty concept and takes attention to the poverty problem on society and person with its relation with determinants. One of the most important and vital problems of the world, poverty, is connected to another problem: unemployment. Definition and types of unemployment, its possible causes and significant effects on society and individual are explored. Unemployment problem is especially debated for Europe, showing the historical and 2005 situations in EU-15, case of then new 10 members and comparisons with the USA and Japan. Seeing high unemployment rates in European countries requires solution offers. Social security systems are a way to protect persons against effects of unemployment and mainly poverty. Examining provisions of different social systems of EU states on unemployment provides an idea on the possibility of success of these national strategies to minimize poverty that is caused by unemployment.
