Power Generation, Cost Analysis

Electrical power is a vital growth engine of the
economy. It is an essential ingredient of economic
development and, it is required for commercial uses
industry, agriculture, transport etc., & non
commercial uses-domestic lighting, cooking, to use
domestic mechanical gadgets etc. With rapid growth
of population & raising standards of living of
the people, it is quite natural that the demand for
electricity for domestic use should go at fast
rate.A marked feature is the increasing use of
electricity in agriculture-lift irrigations and
pump sets. As a result availability
of power to industry from utility sector become
actuate shortage. Thus, many industries necessarily
to go for captive power generation mostly on diesel
based by bearing high cost of power generation. In
this connection, this book is focused on how the
component costs of power generation steeping high
and how the industries penalized with higher cost
and pressure on diesel consumption which is largely
being imported by India. The hypothesis is to
supply the consistent & reliable power at moderate
tariff to accelerate the pace of development of
economy and society.
