Power generation using rice straw and pet coke - A case study

Currently the energy is produced majorly with the use of fossil fuels which is major cause of concern for sustainable development in coming future. With the excessive use of fossil fuels our environment is changing drastically, harmful emissions after combustion of fossil fuels are rapidly increasing pollution in atmosphere leading to various harmful effects. Due to this reason the new trend which is at peaks, is to use biomass fuel as alternative energy source.This book presents a case study of power plants using rice straw, pet coke and their combinations to produce the electric energy.

The author is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Punjabi University, Patiala, India. He has a teaching experience of more than twenty years with specialization in the field of CFD & heat transfer.
