Practice and Understanding of the Eucharist: United Church of Christ
Details
This study examines the various ways that Holy Communion is practiced in the United Church of Christ. By thoroughly analyzing the liturgies in the denomination's 1986 Book of Worship and a myriad of antecedent resources, Dr. Tamilio explores the tapestry of meanings that exist in this Reformed Church. His findings are augmented by qualitative research he conducted with various focus groups (representing diverse, local congregations) across the United States. This book is a MUST for liturgical scholars, historians, theologians, pastors, seminarians, and lay people interested in exploring one of the two sacraments that are formative to all Christian denominations and churches.
