Predictors of Use of Mobile Apps by University Students in Nigeria
Details
The number and popularity of mobile apps is rising dramatically due to the accelerating rate of adoption of smartphone (Xu et al. 2011). In Africa, mobile phones are the most widely used form of communication technology, enabling the African mobile market to be the fastest growing in the world when compared with other continents (Kalba, 2008 as cited in Oluwole, 2012). This can be attributed to the ease with which people use mobile phones to communicate and achieve their day to day goals. Gone are the days of mobile phones with only GSM network, where most popular phone functions were to make calls, receive calls, send SMSs and play factory fitted games. All thanks to the development of higher networks and of mobile applications through help of indigenous and foreign software developers.
