Preliminary Risk Analysis in a Sector of the Chemical Industry
Details
The aim of this work was to survey the main risks in the filtration sector of a chemical industry using the risk analysis techniques: Checklist and Preliminary Risk Analysis (PRA). Based on the methodological technique provided by the multinational company DUPONT, the Checklist was applied as a preliminary survey that provided data to be recorded in an APR spreadsheet, and analyzed under the Supporting References in the Selection of the Probability of Occurrence of an Event, which indicated the different degrees of risks detected and classified using the General Risk Tolerability Matrix. The results obtained through the use of the APR technique made it possible to pinpoint where and what the causes of the risk were, and to present suggestions for mitigating or eliminating them. This book is aimed at engineering professionals, administrators and businesspeople, and offers them an understanding of how to implement a methodology that helps in the operational risk management program of a chemical company.
