Preparation and characterization of ibuprofen co-crystals

Literature survey has indicated that majority of the co-crystals of ibuprofen were prepared with low molecular weight coformers. In the present study, it was demonstrated that ibuprofen forms co-crystals with high molecular weight coformers like povidone K- 25 and K-30. We have successfully achieved two objectives.1. Improvement in solubility of ibuprofen by formation of co-crystals of ibuprofen: povidon.2. Improvement in analgesic activity of ibuprofen by formation of co-crystals of ibuprofen: povidon.
