Prevalence and Perceptions for Use of Herbal Remedies

Diabetes Mellitus is a common chronic disease with increasing prevalence world widely. Many diabetic patients used herbs besides conventional treatment in Saudi Arabia. Although there are many studies about diabetes in all its aspects, however, there is a limited of studies on the use of herbal remedies among patients with diabetes or correct their beliefs about its use. For that reason, this book attempts to provide a holistic overview about it. The aim of this study to evaluate the frequency and prevalence of using herbal drugs in treatment of diabetes type 2 in Saudi Arabia and determine the perceptions towards herbal remedies and also to determine the factors associated with use of herbal remedies among Saudi people with Type 2 diabetes mellitus .
