Oral cancer has emerged as a significant cause of global public health concern. An inequitable distribution of the oral cancer has been observed due to the prevalence of disease specific risk factors, socioeconomic factors, regional differences in demographic parameters of the population, and accessibility and availability of cost-effective screening and diagnostic measures. Multiple socio-demographic and habit-related risk factors have been attributed to causing oral cancer. This book narrates about the prevalence of oral cancer and potentially malignant disorders on India and around the world.
