Prevalence rate of tuberculosis

Tuberculosis is an infectious and lethal disease caused by Mycobacterium Tuberculosis. It most commonly affect the lungs but can also spread to the other part of the body. It is estimated that one third of the world population is infected by this bacteria.Tuberculosis is a treatable disease. It can be treated and cover with six months course of antimicrobial drugs. The drugs can be given to the patient by a skillful health worker and it can be used on a regular basis without missing (WHO, 2013).
