Principles of Community Development

The world is a very big secrete and education is the only key that can be used to unravel it. The academic landscape of Sierra Leone a nation once recognized as the Athens of West Africa has for decades suffered from a dearth of resource materials produced by sons and daughters of the soil. This challenge should not be sustained. It is in that vein that I have relentlessly committed my precious time to burning the midnight candle to contribute to knowledge by the work of publication.This book which is second by the same author is divided into seven chapters intended to cushion the resource material needs of our students. It starts with a look at the meaning of development and moves further to look at developing and developing countries, economic growth models, types of economy, statistics, data presentation and survey. Readers are encouraged to go in search of related materials from other sources to have an in-depth knowledge of the topics covered.

Joe Diawo ist Doktorand in der Abteilung für landwirtschaftliche Beratung und ländliche Soziologie der Njala Universität. Derzeit ist er Dozent in der Abteilung für Community Development Studies, die er seit vier Jahren leitet. Der Autor ist Präsident der Senior Staff Association, eine Position, die er seit Februar 2017 innehat.
