Principles of histomorphometry

The motivation for this book came from some courses we were invited to give on morphometrics at other universities. These courses were very enjoyable opportunities in which we were able to talk about the principles and applications of morphometrics with students from different backgrounds. They always brought their doubts about possible applications to solve their scientific questions, and we always tried to answer them within the scope of our knowledge. However, we felt that a basic bibliography on the subject, covering both the general principles of morphometry and possible applications in some commonly studied organs, could be useful. We hope that this book will provide a pleasant and instructive read, and that it will help readers in their training and with their research projects.
