Privatization and stock markets in post-communist countries

After the fall of the communist regime and the centrally-planned economy massive and far-reaching changes were necessary to introduce the systemic transformation towards a democratic, free market economy in Eastern Europe. In recent years, Poland has made substantial progress towards establishing an institutional structure for a functioning market economy and provided a model for many other Eastern and Central European Countries.The thesis examines the impact of the Polish privatization strategy on the development of the local stock market.
