Probiotics in health promotion and their therapeutic effect

An overview regarding the relationships between probiotics and the health is presented. After a brief historical introduction, probiotic microorganisms, mechanism of action and beneficial effects of probiotics on human health are presented. Many experimental studies have found that probiotics are specific effects for all diseases studied and discussed in this overview. This overview underlines the potential interest in probiotics for the management of diseases pathology.
