Production, Purification, Characterization and Application of Lipases

As we know that during past decade chemical industries has witnessed a stringent rein by environment protection agencies which advocate the importance of biocatalysts as a driving force for chemical industries as the enzymes are highly specific, selective and efficient. Among different enzymes which find their places in industrial processes, lipases stand apart because of its versatility and potential to carry out diverse range of biotransformation reactions in organic solvents. This review highlights the mushrooming application of lipases in different sector of industries along with different production and purification strategies. Different technologies which make a biocatalyst more robust and reproducible for industrial processes are also incorporated in this review to bridge the gap of industry and academia. This book is intended to covers the important aspects of present state of enzyme market, lipase application and production studies from different microorganisms isolated from different niches, effect of different production parameters on enzyme yield followed by purification and characterization and bioengineering methods to ameliorate the applications potentials of lipases
