Productivity Improvement by Value Stream Mapping

Value Stream Mapping is a lean / quality management tool which assists in establishing the current state of a process while aiding to uncover opportunities for improvement. It is very effective tool in mapping the current and future state of an organization's lean activities. Material handling consumes much of the time in production and assembly in all most all industries. It should be minimized to increase productivity to do so it is important to identify value & non-value activities in the system. It provides clear idea to trace non-value added activities in this system. By removing or reducing the same will improve the performance of the system and in turn increase the productivity too.
