Productivity in the hospital waste management sector

The information consolidated in this work is based on documents consulted and the collection of data from the company; it also has a mixed and interpretative design with common study characteristics focused on social, environmental and regulatory aspects.The process of this research had as objectives to make a historical tour of the sector where they manage hospital solid waste, mentioning the crisis that currently presents this sector, due to the shortage of plastic raw material, which is negatively affecting the production of plastic products, which also led to an unexpected increase in the prices of plastic resins, where there is currently evidence of non-compliance of inputs for the management of solid waste in hospitals, causing returns for poor quality products. It is important to be clear that plastic materials or products have managed to provide valuable solutions to many of the needs of humanity, an example is the management of hospital solid waste that is regulated under the parameters of Resolution 1164 of 2002 and 2184 of 2019.
