Details

In this book, Asian scientists from Japan, China, Indonesia, Korea, Iran and Far East of Russia examine geo-disaster mitigation. It details disaster mitigation technology for building and pipeline safety and includes case studies from recent disasters.

This book includes the recent 10-year achievement of geo-disaster mitigation by leading Asian scientists from Japan, China, Indonesia, Korea, Iran and Far East of Russia. Case studies on recent occurred geo-disasters in Asian region have been presented. The forming mechanics of hazards such as earthquake and landslide are deeply discussed, and the disaster mitigation technology for building and pipeline safety, landslide hazard assessment and risk management are introduced.

Most comprehensive Work on geo-disaster mitigation in Asia Contains several case studies of geo-disaster MultidisciplinaryWork on fundamental natural hazards research, risk assessment and management, and engineering technologies, which can provide more efficient disaster mitigation Includes supplementary material: sn.pub/extras

Autorentext
Prof. Fawu Wang is an Associate Professor in Disaster Prevention Section, Department of Geoscience, National Shimane University, Japan. He and his colleagues have published three books with Springer. Working on Engineering Geology and disaster prevention for near thirty years, he is an expert on disaster mitigation especially for rapid and long runout landslides.
Prof. Masakatsu Miyajima is a full professor of Earthquake Engineering in Department of Civil Engineering, National Kanazawa University, Japan. He conducted numerous field investigations after large scale earthquakes all over the world, and carried our systematic research on lifeline safety engineering.
Prof. Tonglu Li is a full professor of Engineering Geology in Chang'an University, China. He studied landslide for more than 20 years and good at the field investigation, and now is the Deputy Dean of the School of Geodesy and Engineering Geology in the university.
Prof. Wei Shan is a full professor of Forest Engineering and Engineering Geology in Northeast Forestry University. He studied geo-hazards in cold area for more than 30 years, and is an expert on disaster prevention in highway construction.
Prof. Teuku Faisal Fathani is a Associate Professor at Gadjah Mada University, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, in Indonesia.
