Promoting youth participation

The book discusses the participation of young people in decision-making processes, in development aid projects and programs, and in community and/or government initiatives and actions. The author presents the advantages of such an approach for young people, for their communities and, more generally, for their country, before addressing what should be the guidelines to be followed and the challenges to be met.What's interesting is the approach he takes. Indeed, he shows how he has operationalized theories put forward by "authoritative" authors in the field of participation, and draws on his own real-life experiences, both as a young person who has benefited from a participation program in the past, and as an adult professional now in charge of the issue for over a decade, at the United Nations Population Fund office in the Democratic Republic of Congo, to formulate the guiding principles and challenges to be met when working on youth participation.
