This book is intended to be a primer in selecting suitable recreational park sites using Geographic Information System (GIS) based Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis. It is aimed at recreation experts, volunteer leaders,university students, & members of resident boards or commissions.The fundamental philosophy of law articulated in this book applies to local, state, & federal agencies as well as private providers of recreation with special reference to Malaysia.The practitioners of GIS will at some point in time need to learn to obtain field data appropriate for the various requirements of their projects. Therefore,the purpose of this book is to ease the way for the person who has a background in the basics of GIS & laboratory methods but little practical knowhow of the field methods required for successful implementation of GIS projects.Students with such background who want to begin a project requiring field work;experts with government agencies who may have field knowhow but need guidance applying them aptly into GIS,tutors who want to supplement a GIS course with a project requiring field work but whose field skill is rusty or narrow are envisioned to be the readers of this book
