Protocol for the management of primary enuresis in children

Considered one of the most frequent urination disorders in children, enuresis is a condition that affects 15 to 25% of children from the age of 5, and may persist in 0.5% of cases into adulthood. The pathogenesis of enuresis is multifactorial, suggesting the involvement of several genetic, psychological and hormonal causes....Enuresis is a benign and temporary condition, with a tendency towards spontaneous resolution with age. However, its psychosocial and family repercussions are not negligible, and constitute a real handicap for the affected child, hindering his or her individual development and achievement.
