Despite all the advantages described about the unparalleled superiority of breastfeeding for newborns and the encouragement given to its adoption, its practice in newborns of infected mothers can have adverse psychological interpretations. When breastfeeding, the mother transmits emotional experiences to the baby that are equivalent to biochemical substances for the body. These psychic substances make up the child's personality, its way of being and its integration into society. Breastfeeding builds up an "immunity" against certain emotional ailments, as it helps to strengthen the child's psyche.
