Psychology of Adolescents

Popular view is that adolescence is a time of storm & stress'mainly due to heightened conflict with parents & adults,frequent & extreme mood disruptions & the presence of risk behavior.However,it is also a stage of increased introspection,self- consciousness,advanced thinking & exuberant growth! Myriads of factors influence the psyche & personality of adolescents at this transitional period & one such great influence is that of the mother.Presently,the change in the role of mother not only as a caretaker'but also as a breadwinner' has some important implications for child development.This book,therefore distinctly deals with the impact of maternal employment on the cognitive, conative & affective aspects of adolescent personality by comparing the adolescents of working mothers & housewives.As not only the employment of mothers but also their occupational profiles have a differential impact on their children,the book throws light on this aspect too.The authors hope that this book would be useful for parents,especially mothers.
