This research study conducted by Handun Rasari Athukorala as part of her BA (Hons) studies in the Department of Sociology at the University of Colombo is an in-depth case study of psychosocial wellbeing of the female workers in the Export Processing Zone in Sri Lanka. This study makes a worthwhile contribution to the understanding of the lives of female workers and social realities in a workplace. Utilizing both qualitative and quantitative research methods, she successfully brings forth voices of female factory workers, which are not always heard or represented. This study is a successful attempt in a holistic' understanding of women's lives in a factory setting, taking a wellbeing approach. This is an important piece of scholarly work especially for researchers in organizational management, social and behavioural studies as well as in women's studies.

Handun Rasari Athukorala is a PhD candidate at Monash University in the School of Political and Social Inquiry. Previously she worked as an assistant lecturer in Sociology at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Handun 's central research interests include migration, ethnicity, identity, positive psychology, work and young people.
