Public health importance of goat borne diseases and zoonoses

Zoonotic diseases are of great concern for the public health as these diseases can transmit from animals to human and can lead to variable rate of morbidity and mortality. Small ruminant like goat plays an important role in the spread of many of these diseases including the emerging and re-emerging diseases. The present monograph gives an insight of these economically important diseases which can lead to detorioration in animal as well as human health, the different diagnostic, prevention and control policies that have to be adopted at the phase of outbreak of these diseases with an aim of socio-economic benefit.

Dr. Sandip Chakraborty obtained his M.V.Sc in Veterinary Microbiology from Karnataka Veterinary, Animal & Fisheries Sciences University in the year 2010. Since then he has worked in national level project at ICAR,especially in the filed of veterinary diagnostics & has authored 4 articles which are published at national & international level.
