Geological Survey of India (GSI), the pioneer earth science organization in India that is engaged in geological mapping, search and exploration for mineral / energy and offshore resource; in carrying out engineering geology, geotechnical, environmental and geological hazard studies beside other geoscientific - marine, glacial and Antarctic programmes. GSI has always been achieving one of its prime objectives of making available geological maps and publications projecting the earth science related information. With over 165 years of service and having mapped the country, GSI has attained a warehouse of data on geoinfomation and has been disseminating through a large number of geological and thematic maps on various scales. While building and managing vast volume of geoinformation including its enormous wealth of map data, GSI is entering to a new phase - data integration through its prestigious and most informative Online Core Business Integrated System . The efforts of GSI, as a continuous process will form the basis and further pave way to the entire geoscientifc community in their georesearch, mineral find and for all socio-economic developments.
