High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Purushottam Nagesh Oak (March 2, 1917 - December 4, 2007), commonly referred to as P. N. Oak, was an Indian writer and self-styled Professor, notable for his historical revisionism. His claims, e.g. that Christianity and Islam are both derivatives of Hinduism, or that the Kaaba and the Taj Mahal were once Hindu temples to Shiva, are not taken seriously in mainstream academic circles in India as well as the West, and are regarded as examples of pseudohistory; he has been referred to as a "mythistorian" or "crackpot".Oak's "Institute for Rewriting Indian History" issued a quarterly periodical called Itihas Patrika in the 1980s.
