Kadesh or Qadesh more accurately transliterated nowadays as Qadesh a historically documented Canaanite walled hill city of antiquity along the Orontes river now believed to be the ruins known as Tell Nebi Mend, Syria in the Middle East (Palestine-Syria) outside of which Rameses the Great led a force over 1,000 miles (1,609 km) attacked the encroaching Hitite empire. The two forces met in the plains west of the river and south of the walled city in the battle of Qadesh, believed to be the largest Chariot vs. Chariot battle in history with 5-6,000 chariots on the field.
