He is the current Chairman of Pakistan Meteorological Department and Vice President of World Meteorological Organisation. He is a researcher in the field of meteorology and weather technology. Chaudhry a well-known scientist in Pakistan who has written articles in the field of meteorology and Plate tectonics earthquakes. He has published more than 500 research papers in the field of meteorology and related sciences. Born in Sargodha, Pakistan, Chaudhry received his early education from Lahore. Later, he attended Government College University where he received his B.Sc in Physics with honors and M.Sc. in Physics from the Quaid-i-Azam University. He received his Ph.D in meteorology from "University of the Philippines Los Baños".
