This book provides a guide to qualitative research methods in the multidisciplinary field of physical culture. Developing an approach based on the '7 Ps' of research, this text navigates a pathway through the research process that will be invaluable as a teaching tool and to experienced and inexperienced researchers alike.

Qualitative Research for Physical Culture is a practical guide to qualitative research methods for physical culture. This book will provide guidance and aid to students and researchers from a wide range of scholarly fields, just as the authors have intended. It also deals with a variety of different qualitative methods, making it a good introduction to the many possible research designs and practices that qualitative methods provide within the fields of physical culture and sport. (Anne Tjønndal, Scandinavian Sport Studies Forum, idrottsforum.org, May, 2016)

'It was daunting doing a dissertation for the first time and the 7P approach provided a clear step-by-step guide from start to finish of the project' - Sarah, Undergraduate Student, Bath University, UK

'The text offered guidance and aided me as I began to negotiate thecontested and messy world of research. This is a book that is simultaneously challenging and rewarding, a must for students endeavouring to research physical culture' - Matthew, Graduate Student, University of Maryland, USA

'No doubt this book will be a great success for students, teachers and researchers alike, and I hope the authors may continue to update it in their easy to read manner as our field of qualitative research expands and becomes a more complex area to map.' - George Jennings, Qualitative Methods in Psychology
