Quality of Geriatric health in rural Tripura, India

Life expectancy of people living in developing world is increasing with the advancement of healthcare facilities. So capacity of geriatric healthcare needs enhancement to deal with the health needs of growing geriatric population. India being a developing nation has sizeable geriatric population. Despite having various methods of assessing health related quality of life of the geriatric people, limited efforts have been made to assess the quality of life of geriatric people living in the Northeastern region of India. This book is an account of health related quality of life of the geriatric people living in rural areas of Tripura, a Northeastern state of India. It has evaluated all the possible implications of socio-demographic parameters and locally prevalent health conditions in determining geriatric health. This book is expected to be helpful for tailoring geriatric health programs for Northeastern region of India, which has geo-socio-culturally unique identity in India.
