The film stars Jeeva, Gajala and Saranya in lead, whilst Rahman, Ganja Karuppu, making his acting debut, and Murali play supporting roles. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film, released in March 2005, has met with critical acclaim since its release, with its direction, music and performances particularly gaining plaudits. The film was screened at the 2006 Cyprus International Film Festival, where it won two awards for Best Actor and Best Musical Score for Jeeva and Yuvan Shankar Raja, respectively.
