Rabo de Junco (Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: Rabu di Junku, also in the São Vicente Crioulo: Rab'' d'' Junk'''') is a remote village in the western part of the island of Sal. The area overlooks a nearby promontory as well as a homonymous islet westward. The village is about 7 km southwest of Espargos and has a road linking to the island capital and a remote road linking with Murdeira. Rabo de Junco features palm trees while short cliffs dominate the coastline, much of the area is flat and has deserts that features traces or no bushes and plants, its climate its dry and features rarely any rainfall. Crop production including fruits and vegetables, wheat, dairy and other kinds of food are entirely exported.
