She is represented by Perihelion Gallery. Bess is known for her highly realistic, sometimes surrealistic, oil paintings on panel. Her work has drawn comparisons to that of the Dutch Masters (a proclaimed favorite of hers), as well as to certain sub-genres of the lowbrow art movement. Rachel''s love of science and mathematics is evident in her work and, not surprisingly, she nearly went for a double major in Anthropology and Art. As it stands, however, Rachel got her BFA in Painting from the Honors College at Arizona State University in 2001.
