She was portrayed by Emily Bergl, and is the half-sister of Carrie White, the protagonist of the original film. Rachel is the daughter of Ralph White and Barbara Lang. Years before Rachel's birth, Ralph had walked out on his wife, Margaret, and had another daughter, Carrie. Sometime during Rachel's early life, Ralph left, never to be seen again. Her mother, who suffered from schizophrenia, lost her sanity was taken to a psychiatric hospital. It was then that Rachel first showed her powers of telekinesis, slamming and opening windows and doors.
